Emergency Wall

So the kindergartner, after all his childish fits, and raving and ranting, has not been able to get his way and will declare a national emergency. Isn’t it amazing - 15% of American kids occasionally having to go to bed hungry is not an emergency, 35000 gun deaths per year is not an emergency, but the blimp baby being criticized by Ann, Laura, Rush and Sean is a huge emergency. The baby cannot take it. 

But he can always do what Fox News commands. When news of the compromise first broke, Hannity derided it as “garbage” and urged Dotard not to sign it. But now he writes on Fox News that while it is garbage, Dotard should sign it and declare an emergency (my God - Fox News is being ignored - Emergency!!!). So Dotard does that. Even Ann’s sharp tongue has temporarily gone silent.

I have a better suggestion for him. Already at the last rally, banners of Build the Wall had magically changed to Finish the Wall, although the only Wall actually built is only in the minds of Dotard and his Trumpkins. But you can fool a lot of people some of the time, so in a few months, the banner can move to Complete Last Bit of Wall, and then by the end of the year to Mission Accomplished - Wall Stands. 

Fox News would probably even help out by beaming pictures of China’s Wall and claiming they are in Arizona or Texas or wherever. The true believers will believe that. Dotard’s message has always been - Do you believe me or your own eyes and ideas?

Unfortunately, this is one more example of democracy being trampled on. In their yearly Democracy Index, The Economist had already downgraded the US for the first time to a Flawed Democracy last year, and it stayed there again this year, below countries such as Chile, Costa Rica, Mauritius and Estonia. Declaring emergencies in the way dictatorships do them is not going to make things better.

GQP Gun violence "solutions "

  Here is a partial list of “solutions” proposed by GQP Senators and reps, Fox News pundits, and other rightwing, soulless axxholes yesterday, each followed by my comments in brackets. - Give children bullet-proof backpacks. 1 Senator even suggested parents should buy children those instead of toys.  (They don’t wear backpacks in school. How about full bulletproof clothing? Why not give them full body armour? Understanding Talibangelicals

  In his big NBC interview shown yesterday, Dotard said it was a “big mistake” for DeathSantis to sign a 6 week abortion ban. Immediately, numerous pundits speculated that this could cause him to lose a lot of support in Iowa, the first-in-the-nation voters, where evangelicals dominate.
