Biden's Jan 6th speech

 The day is the Epiphany, when Christians believe the 3 oriental Kings brought presents of gold, frankincense and myrrh for the baby. In Russia and the Eastern Orthodox world, its often the day they celebrate Christmas, though this year it was the 7th. And in the US, this year it was the day when Biden finally realized the old Republican Party he knew is dead, replaced by a racist, bigoted GQP that talks a lot about Jesus but actually kneels before its own Orange Idol, which Jesus would have chased out of the temple,ike he did the money lender's..

That was definitely Biden's best speech of his Presidency. Finally using the biggest bully pulpit in the country. He hit the bloated Orangeman where it hurts most - his EGO. He never used his name - he didn't have to. But his various references to his having lost - being a LOSER - were meant to go for the gut. Almost as though the speech was written by the Lincoln Project.

"He can’t accept that he lost, even though that’s what 93 United States senators, his own attorney general, his own vice president, governors and state officials in every battleground state have all said,” Biden said of Trump. “He LOST.”

And even more blunt - "He's not just a former President. He's a DEFEATED former President".

And the hardest, unkindest cut of all.

“He’s done so because he values power over principle, because he sees his own interest as more important than his country’s interest, and because his bruised EDO matters more to him than our democracy and our Constitution.”

The Dotard was reportedly fuming mad and pacing up and down at his marble hideout, shouting at anybody near him. 850 years after Henry II, he no doubt wanted to say, “Will no one rid me of this meddlesome priest?”. But Cardinal Bannon, ArchBishop Stone and Bishop Meadows had no solace for him.

Another great line came from somebody I am not a fan of - "reformed" ex-GOPer Joe Scarborough on MSNBC

"The “big lie” bloodletting happened at the behest of a slumlord’s son, who inherited more than $400 million and used his presidency to undermine citizens’ faith in their country. His anti-American poison was spread through the arteries of one foreign family’s media empire and soon metastasized across the American heartland."

A good shot at both Dotard and the criminal supporting him - Rupert Murdoch. And slumlord's son - wish I had thought of that.

The funniest line came from Andy Borowitz (who else?)

"Ivanka desperately called Putin during the riot and urged him to call her father. You are the only one he will listen to" she pleaded. (i love to imagine that).

The GQP, once upon a time the party of law and order, showed their true colours by not showing up at all for the remembrances in the Capitol. I am sure Dotard must now be regretting he didn't go ahead with his speech at Mar-a-Lago and command every GQP Rep/Senator to be there. Most of them would have trudged there like sheep, all ready to kiss their sovereign's a..., er, ring.

The only GOPers at the Capitol memorial were Liz Cheney and her dad Darth Vader. As Maureen Dowd put it, "Trump is such an egomaniacal thug, that even Dick Cheney, christened a self-aggrandizing criminal by The Atlantic in 2011, seems saintly by comparison". The guy most Democrats hated 15 years ago was welcomed like the Second Coming. Everything is relative, I suppose. Stalin looked mild when the alternative was Hitler.

Instead, the GQP left it to 2 nutjobs, the paedophile Gaetz and the inventor of Jewish Space Lasers, MTG, to make some ridiculous speeches on the Capitol steps that made one wonder if they had forgotten to go to the toilet that morning, as it was all coming out right there. They talked endlessly about a fed-surrection, which sounded like something you get after taking Viagra for a long time.

Clearly the GQP has no Shakespeare in their ranks.

And the rest of the world could only mourn at this disgrace that once was the party of Lincoln, and at a country that once was supposedly a Democracy.
