More Emergency

It’s become a cliche, but there really is a past tweet for everything:

In his usual meandering Rose Garden speech, he whined about Obama getting the Nobel Peace Prize, while he likely wouldn’t get it (no, not even if he kisses Kim in Hanoi). “I probably will never get it” he said wistfully. No, you won’t Dotard. It wasn’t meant for con men and liars, even -in-chief.
The GOP completely rolled over like pet dogs, no doubt making Trump think that he should have fired Mueller a year ago, and Tortoise McConnell and his crew, no matter what they said, would have stuck with him. After all, McConnell for weeks was against the emergency declaration, but now, tail between his legs, supports it. As many have pointed out, if they do not oppose this, they cannot oppose (though they will) a future Dem president calling an emergency on guns, climate change, or whatever.
Just one more cog in the breakdown of Democracy in America. Almost unnoticed in the uproar was the defiance of the Supreme Court by a circuit court, something that had not happened in 200+ years. The 5th circuit upheld an abortion restriction that the SC had declared unconstitutional just 3 years ago. They basically said to the SC, “Fxxx you”. Even worse, 4 of the SC judges said “Fxxx you” to themselves when they refused to stay the circuit court. Here again, conservatives cheered. But all that is going to lead to is blue circuits also saying “fxxx you” to the SC on things they don’t like (guns, contraception mandates, etc), so that soon US law will depend on where you live.

  Here is a partial list of “solutions” proposed by GQP Senators and reps, Fox News pundits, and other rightwing, soulless axxholes yesterday, each followed by my comments in brackets. - Give children bullet-proof backpacks. 1 Senator even suggested parents should buy children those instead of toys.  (They don’t wear backpacks in school. How about full bulletproof clothing? Why not give them full body armour? Heck, after your abortion laws have passed, make baby body armour compulsory - straight from the womb to safety). - why can’t we have security like at airports - with full body and backpack screening? (Well, the US has around 5000 airports, and about 150000 schools. They can’t even find enough miserably paid TSA personnel for the airports - good luck for the schools.   In his big NBC interview shown yesterday, Dotard said it was a “big mistake” for DeathSantis to sign a 6 week abortion ban. Immediately, numerous pundits speculated that this could cause him to lose a lot of support in Iowa, the first-in-the-nation voters, where evangelicals dominate.
