Iran deal update
As Dotard struggles to convince the G19 to support him on Iran, and no support coming except from his chum MbS, we now know why Trump thinks the Iran deal is a disaster. It has Obama’s signature.
EU diplomats are now sure that if nothing changed in the deal except a few commas and semi-colons, but Trump would sign it instead of Obama, he would sign it immediately and proclaim it the greatest deal in history. EU bureaucrats are working on such “meaningless changes”, as one called it.
After all, this is a President who’s ego is more important than anything else, and everybody from world leaders to ball boys, baggage handlers and porn stars have realized this. So he struts on the world stage at Osaka and talks about his great relationships with everybody, while all those everybodies are laughing behind his back, as are the cooks, waiters and cleaners at the venue.
But coming back to Iran, there was a meeting yesterday in Vienna of Iran and the other 5 signatories. My spies tell me that the proposal above was made. No meaningful changes - just signature. However, Iran is yet to buy in to that. They cannot trust Dotard, and say his signature is basically worth shxt. Which is probably true. Like the man himself.
They would rather sit out the next 18 months and bet that the American people throw him out. If that does not happen, they will revise strategy then. As would the other 5 as well. They have plenty of other issues to gripe about besides the Iran deal, and they are also sitting out the 18 months in search of change. If however Trump is re-elected, there would probably be economic war as the EU gangs up with China and others to take on Trump’s bullying.
In that situation, among other things, everybody would buy Iranian oil ignoring the sanctions, and dare Trump to do anything about it. He might back down. Or that could cause a catastrophe, but the thinking is that that’s better than enduring 4 more years of bullying.
The American people could solve the problem next November, but don’t bet yet on there being enough reasonable Americans to do that.
