Supreme Qourt and Abortion

So, irrespective of what one thinks about the moral dimension of abortion, let me say for the 127th time.  For the GQP, the Talibangelicals, and unfortunately for a large part of the so-called “pro-life” movement, life begins at conception and ends at birth

After all, these same pro-life people are all for the death penalty. And the same crowd has opposed any help to poor mothers and their children. Is it a wonder that the rich US has maternal mortality and child mortality rates 4 times as high as Western Europe, and in at least one of those 2, rates worse than countries like Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan or Iran. In fact, Texas has a maternal mortality rate double that of Iran. So much for hypocrites being pro-life.

Most of the red states that have restricted abortion and are ready to ban it after the Qourt rules also spend the least amount of money on expectant mothers or their children after they are born (if they don’t die in the process). There is zero commitment from these pro-life zealots to help these children after they are born.

Effectively, their motto is - Great that you were born. Now if your mother is poor, just get lost. Fvck off. Vamoose. Maybe one of our pro-gun people (again the same crowd) can help you with that.

More than 10 million of the 15 million children who sometimes go to bed hungry “in the greatest nation on earth” live in red states. But the GQP just voted to discontinue the additional child support that was approved during the pandemic, and that halved child poverty in the US. So soon it will double again. The GQP is against child care subsidies, free pre-kindergarten, parental leave and anything that could make raising a family easier. So much for pro-life.

But so what? Glory to God that we can outlaw abortion and put even more children destined to suffer in the world. Hallelujah!

Not to mention putting women in their place again. How dare they think that real white men (presumably those who have undergone the now world famous Tucker’s Testicle Tanning) cannot make decisions about their bodies? Reading some of Alito’s words makes one vomit. Typical 18th century white man telling women to shut up. God made them to cook, clean, obey their husbands and bear children. Glory to god again. Hallelujah!

Banning abortion will only lead to the back alley. Pre-Roe, an estimated 2500 US women died per year from unsafe abortions. Post-Roe in the last few years, it was around 250 per year. But again, who cares if 10 times as many women die if Roe falls? All witches, no doubt, as Talibangelicals will probably say. Or a word that rhymes with that. Glory to God a third time.

Amazingly, some pro-life warriors have used the fact that 250 women die a year to say abortion should be banned. Strangely, those same people are not bothered by 40000+ gun deaths per year. In fact, the same GQP legislators continuously vote to make gun ownership easier. After all, didn’t Jesus carry a gun at all times. Sometimes 2 guns.

Of course, these pro-life hypocrites and GQP legislators are now saying they will immediately gear up to help poor women and their children. Reminds me of their Repeal and Replace bullshxt during the Obamacare fight. They voted 50+ times to repeal, but after 8 years, when they had the power to repeal, had no Replace ready. Nothing. Zero.  Anybody think it’s going to be different with helping poor women? If you do, I have a beautiful bridge in San Francisco to sell to you at a great price.

I will close this with a hard-hitting, but totally TRUE statement from AOC on the Texas situation that will soon apply to plenty of red states. Texas, she said, has made it possible for a rapist to sue his 12 year old victim and collect $ 10.000 for his effort.

Glory to God. Hallelujah!!
